Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Planning Manager to lead project planning, scheduling, and progress control across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing robust project schedules, monitoring execution, and ensuring alignment between site activities, resources, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Scheduling & Planning
- Develop detailed project schedules including baseline and recovery programs using Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Define work breakdown structures (WBS), activities, milestones, and work packages
- Establish realistic timelines aligned with project scope and deliverables
2. Progress Monitoring & Control
- Track daily and weekly site progress against baseline schedules
- Identify delays, analyze root causes, and develop recovery/mitigation plans
- Ensure accurate progress measurement and reporting
3. Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors, and procurement teams
- Ensure alignment of material delivery, manpower, and site execution with project schedules
- Facilitate smooth communication across all project stakeholders
4. Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to management and clients
- Highlight key risks, delays, and corrective actions
- Provide insights for decision-making and project performance improvement
5. Documentation & Claims Support
- Support the commercial team in preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) and variation claims
- Maintain proper documentation of delays, disruptions, and project changes
6. Resource Planning & Optimization
- Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and resources based on project milestones
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources to meet project deadlines
- Monitor productivity and suggest improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience, with UAE project experience preferred
- Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Proven experience in project planning for construction / fit-out projects
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work under pressure
