Planning Engineer – Qatar Construction Company Jobs in Doha at Qatar Construction
Qatar Construction Company (QCON) and similar large contractors (including L&T and other multinationals operating in Qatar) regularly hire labor positions — from site laborers and mechanics to equipment operators — for infrastructure and building projects.
A Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling construction project schedules to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
They are one of the most important roles in large construction projects in Qatar.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project
Prepare baseline programs, work sequences, and milestones
Update schedules based on site progress
2. Progress Monitoring
Track daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress
Compare actual progress vs planned schedule
Identify delays and critical path activities
3. Delay Analysis & Reporting
Analyze project delays and causes (client, contractor, weather, resources)
Prepare EOT (Extension of Time) claims
Create recovery schedules to fix delays
4. Coordination
Work closely with site engineers, project managers, and subcontractors
Coordinate with procurement and construction teams
Attend project progress meetings
5. Reporting
Prepare:
Weekly progress reports
Monthly dashboards
S-curves and productivity reports
Present updates to clients and management
6. Resource & Cost Support
Assist in manpower and equipment planning
Support cost control and cash flow tracking
Monitor productivity rates on site
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management
3–10+ years experience in construction planning
Strong knowledge of:
Primavera P6
MS Project
Excel (advanced reporting)
Experience in Qatar construction or GCC projects preferred
Understanding of construction methods and sequencing
Pay: From QAR10,000.00 per month
