Position Overview: The Planning Engineer in the Electrical Distribution Department will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing detailed project schedules to ensure the efficient execution of electrical distribution projects. The role demands strong technical expertise in planning and scheduling tools, as well as a deep understanding of electrical distribution systems, to optimize project timelines and resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Scheduling:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for electrical distribution projects using planning software such as Primavera (P6) or Microsoft Project.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.
Regularly update schedules based on project progress, ensuring alignment with project objectives and deadlines.
Resource Planning & Allocation:
Analyze and determine project resource needs, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient allocation.
Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
Monitoring & Progress Reporting:
Monitor project progress by tracking milestones, deadlines, and resource usage.
Prepare detailed progress reports for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting potential risks and delays.
Recommend corrective actions for any deviations from the project plan to bring schedules back on track.
Risk Analysis & Mitigation:
Identify potential risks and issues that may affect project timelines and propose mitigation strategies.
Implement contingency plans to ensure the smooth progression of electrical distribution projects.
Technical Documentation:
Maintain up-to-date records of all schedules, project documents, and progress reports.
Ensure proper documentation of all changes and updates to the project schedule.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with engineering, construction, and operational teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to provide clear and timely updates on project status.
Core Technical Requirements:
Experience in Electrical Distribution: A thorough understanding of electrical distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, substations, and power transmission.
Proficiency in Planning Tools: Expertise in Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, or similar project scheduling software.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex project data, identify potential issues, and propose solutions.
Knowledge of Industry Standards: Familiarity with electrical industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in project planning within the electrical distribution or power industry.
Proven experience with planning tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).

Pay: AED6,000.00 – AED8,000.00 per month
