Why This Role
Reporting to the Assistant Manager – Planning, the Planning Engineer is responsible for the effective planning and coordination of marine projects, ensuring that resources, schedules, and reporting are aligned with operational requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing the Marine Project Baseline Schedule in line with the Scope of Work, defining activity sequences and durations
- Developing Marine Bid Schedules
- Allocating manpower in accordance with operational needs, monitoring execution hours, and ensuring all work orders are completed on schedule
- Preparing monthly reports, including manpower planning and forecasts, project completion, cost reports, and dock and jetty occupancy
- Monitoring daily project progress and escalating challenges and risks to the Manager – Planning
- Coordinating across Production, Estimation, Procurement, and Central Stores to align manpower and materials with project demands

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in ship-repair project planning and cost control
- Proficiency in Primavera (P6), MS Project, Power BI, and MS Office
- Business-fluent English; Arabic is an advantage
- Strong skills in time management, prioritisation, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication
