Position: Piping Superintendent (6-month contract)
Location: Rābigh
Job Purpose:
Ensuring all deliverables needed for Home Office Construction activity in a given project are prepared for the assigned scope, providing necessary support to other departments. He/she ensures that field construction performed by subcontractors adheres to specifications and drawings in subcontract documents concerning HSE, quality, and planning. The Piping Superintendent oversees the overall management of all site activities in terms of HSE, quality, cost, and milestones, maintaining good relationships with client/PMC and local authorities.
Accountabilities:
Elaborates, in cooperation with Employer, the Subcontracting strategy starting from that prepared during bid stage.
Performs the Construction sequence analysis identifying the critical path, and giving the Project Team the necessary input to define the Project schedule.
Defines the Construction Work Package’s list and associated release plan consistent with the overall schedule; responsible for the periodical update of the document during project development.
Plans all deliverables issue and activities to be performed by the Construction Department on the Project in accordance with the overall schedule and relevant resources allocated.
Checks, in cooperation with Project Team, the availability of free issue deliverables (material and IFC drawings) for each Construction Work Package before issuing the relevant notice to start to Subcontractor.
Approves all specific Project procedures and deliverables as in approval course.
Supports and drives the Constructability sessions preparation and verifies the implementation of the outcomes from Constructability sessions and follow-up.
Oversees and monitors all construction activities performed by company’ subcontractors for the project.
Implements safety programs and ensures site working conditions by supervising site clean-up as required.
Coordinates all construction activities to ensure continuous delivery of work with no stoppage or delay.
Handles technical problems or drawings/specifications interpretation in case of need.
Revises construction schedule when progress trend is deviating and develops strategies and corrective measures to ensure respect of the revised schedule.
Checks and approves subcontractors’ invoices, in collaboration with the Subcontract Administration Manager, Cost Control Manager, and Area Construction Superintendents before submitting them to the Site Manager for approval.
Acts as the Employer representative for all relationships with local Authorities, Client, Partners, Subcontractors, or Vendors linked to site activities.
Ensures that Quality Management Systems and HSE&S policy is properly implemented and monitored.
Surveys situation and trends of site costs directly responsible for and decides internal reallocation of budgets (when no impact on overall budget allocations).
Ensures timely report of any incidents to Project Manager.
Makes necessary corrections to the construction strategy during execution.
Qualifications:
Technical Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (approved by Saudi Council of Engineers)
Minimum twenty (20) years of experience in multinational & multi-discipline Projects, including managing Saudi Aramco projects and large Combined Cycle Power Projects.
Advanced experience on construction site
Deep understanding of Construction process and project processes
Confirmed Management & Leadership Skills
Confirmed Interpersonal and influential skills
Ability to lead functional project teams and manage critical timelines with the goal to streamline and provide critical customer service
Ability to supervise and control well-known and experienced subcontractors
Fluency in English
