Piping Estimator Jobs in Abu Dhabi at CAT International
We are seeking an experienced Piping Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for piping projects within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Industrial sectors. The role requires strong technical knowledge of piping systems, material take-offs, labor productivity, and project costing to support competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review client drawings, specifications, RFQs, and tender documents.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for piping fabrication, erection, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Perform material take-offs (MTO) from P&IDs, isometrics, and construction drawings.
- Estimate labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material costs for project execution.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare commercial and technical bid documentation.
- Analyze project risks, assumptions, and exclusions during the estimating process.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project teams to develop accurate estimates.
- Maintain estimating databases, productivity norms, and cost benchmarks.
- Participate in bid clarification meetings and client discussions as required.
- Support project handover by providing detailed estimate breakdowns and cost information.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in piping estimation within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, EPC, or Industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of piping materials, fabrication, erection, welding, hydrotesting, and insulation activities.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, GA drawings, and technical specifications.
- Experience in preparing BOQs, MTOs, and tender submissions.
