Sr. Piping Engineer [ Construction ]
Location: Mesaieed
Role
Surveillance of Contractors/sub-Contractors’ implementation of their quality management systems to verify compliance with contract documentation and ISO 9000 requirements. Onsite inspection of piping fabrication, installation, welding/NDE, static equipment installation, and related quality activities during construction and testing works.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and approval of Contractors and sub-Contractors’ inspection and test plans for conformance to specifications, codes, and standards
- Verify quality control documentation and ensure inspection records/test certificates are available prior to work commencing
- Ensure work sequence is planned and controlled through approved method statements and work instructions
- Undertake actual, witness, and surveillance inspection activities for static equipment, piping fabrication, welding, NDE, installation, and hydro testing
- Review piping works and static equipment installation to verify adequacy of construction and inspection methodologies
- Review and approve inspection and test plans, inspection records, checklists, and test certificates
- Monitor work status for potential interface or schedule problems and apply preventive measures
- Initiate non-conformance reports and produce daily inspection reports
- Conduct daily piping fabrication review and monitor work accuracy against isometric drawings
- Monitor installation and dress out of static equipment
- Monitor ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and MPI testing
- Verify traceability of daily NDE records
Required Skills & Competencies
- Familiarity with construction, piping fabrication, installation, welding inspection methods, and techniques
- Good technical understanding of NDE inspection disciplines
- Good knowledge of international codes and standards and quality control techniques
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and discipline-specific software
