Primary Functions
- Work in compliance with HSE, Quality and Ethics policy of the company.
- Produce RT (Radiographic Testing) Quality welds with productivity.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Follow Welding Supervision’s instructions for daily tasks and responsibilities.
- Able to read/write English to understand WPS requirements.
- Ensure only calibrated welding machines are used for Welding.
- Self-perform setting up of Welding machine parameters as per WPS.
- Able to identify type of material & select consumable as per WPS.
- Good experience in usage of purging systems and able to provide suggestion for critical joints.
- Follow consumable handling requirements from sub store till final consumption as per Project approved procedures.
- Comply with the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) all the time during work.
- Have knowledge about possible weld defects that occurs in welding process and its mitigation.
- Prior to start welding, he should be able to inspect joint (ex. Root gap, bevel angle, root face, Hi-Lo) and report to foreman if any deviation from WPS.
- Preheats work piece using hand torch as per WPS requirements.
- Experience in welding of materials like CS, SS, SDSS, Inconel, Cu-Ni/CRA with radiographic quality.
- Experience in welding of GTAW, SMAW, PGMAW, SAW.
- Experience in welding of higher diameter pipes (Ex.28” and above) for CRA material.
- Awareness and experience in welding of Exotic materials without discoloration/oxidation.
- Awareness in purging of welds, methods for purging and purge dam arrangements.
- Knowledge about usage of correct tools & equipment as per type of material.
- Knowledge in material storage and segregation of different materials as per approved procedures.
- Experience in welding of erection / positional joints(6G).
- Perform root inspection (window) during welding to ensure no root visual defects (LOP, LF, etc.).
- Perform final weld inspection and clean the joint before leaving to next job.
- Ability to produce RT quality welds without any defects.
- Ability to perform Weld repairs.
- Pre & post weld Detail mention on weld matrix.
- Experience in using advanced welding equipment and procedures (TIG, GMAW, etc.).
- Ability to perform welding activity in tandem (welding the joint with another welder simultaneously).
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Qualifications:
- High School
Experience:
- Minimum 8 Year trade experience.
Skills:
- Experience in Inconel/CRA Clad materials
- Experience in Large bore single sided root welding
- Trade Training
- Industrial Training Institute (an advantage)
- Multiple Process Qualification (an advantage)
