UniHawk is looking for an experienced Physics tutor to deliver high quality physics tuition to students working across IGCSE, A Level, and IB Physics. You will help students build genuine understanding of the subject, develop strong exam technique, and gain confidence ahead of their assessments.
This is a hands-on teaching role suited to someone who enjoys working directly with students, adapts easily to different learner needs, and takes pride in getting results. You will work in-person in our DIFC office.
What you will do
- Plan and deliver clear, well-structured Physics lessons tailored to each student’s level and goals
- Teach across IGCSE, A Level, and IB Physics, adapting to the specific specification the student is following (Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, Oxford AQA, and IB Diploma Programme)
- Work through past papers, mark schemes, and exam technique so students know exactly what is expected of them
- Identify gaps in understanding and address them with targeted explanation and practice
- Set and review practice work between sessions where appropriate
- Track student progress and share honest, constructive feedback with students and, where relevant, parents or the academic team
- Maintain accurate records of sessions and progress
What we are looking for
- A degree in Physics
- Strong, current subject knowledge across mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, thermal physics, and modern physics, at IGCSE, A Level, and IB standard
- Proven tutoring or teaching experience, ideally across more than one of the curricula listed above
- Familiarity with the relevant exam boards and their specifications (Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, Oxford AQA, IB)
- The ability to explain difficult concepts simply and patiently
- Clear communication and reliability
- Comfort teaching online and using digital tools to make lessons interactive
Desirable
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) or examiner experience
- Experience teaching IB Physics at both Standard and Higher Level
- Experience supporting students with practical and internal assessment components
- Experience preparing students for university applications and admissions tests
Assessment process
As part of our commitment to quality, all Physics tutor candidates complete a subject knowledge assessment before joining UniHawk. This is a timed paper set at the level you would be tutoring, and it helps us confirm the depth of subject expertise across the curricula. Shortlisted candidates will also take part in an interview and a short teaching demonstration.
