Job Summary
The Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, and related supplies to ensure the continuous availability of inventory across the hospital. The role supports cost-effective purchasing, supplier coordination, inventory optimization, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, and related supplies in accordance with hospital requirements and approved procurement procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with pharmacy and clinical departments to ensure the timely availability of medications and supplies
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, place purchase orders, and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and monitor supplier performance, pricing, and product availability
- Ensure compliance with hospital procurement policies, pharmaceutical regulations, and applicable regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in pharmacy purchasing, pharmaceutical procurement, supply chain, or a related field
- Healthcare or hospital experience is preferred
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement, inventory management, and healthcare supply chain processes is an advantage
- Fluency in Arabic and English languages
