Summary

Within the mission, vision, and values of Saudi Arabian National Guard Health Affairs (NGHA), a member of the medical staff who is qualified in Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics and can function as an independent Consultant Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrician and a primary caregiver and is responsible for the overall cost effective management and coordination of care of the patient.

Education / Qualification

Required:

  • Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  • Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from:
      North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
      • USA:
        The American Board of Behavior Pediatrics (ABP)
      • Canada:
        Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC
        – Behavior Pediatrics)
      • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register
        – Behavior Pediatrics
      • Australia and New Zealand:
        Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP
        – Behavior Pediatrics )
      • Western Europe:
        Equivalent certification to the above
  • Experience Post
    Qualifications:

    • Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
    • Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

    License:

    • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
    • Current BLS/ACLS Certificate

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of developmental and behavioral disorders in children, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, and developmental delays.
    • Conduct comprehensive developmental evaluations, including standardized assessments, clinical observations, and parent interviews.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families, educators, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Provide expert guidance on behavioral interventions, therapy recommendations, and pharmacological management when appropriate.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and educators, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
    • Educate and counsel families on developmental concerns, treatment options, and strategies to support their child’s growth and well-being.
    • Participate in the training and mentorship of medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals in pediatric development and behavior.
    • Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives related to pediatric developmental and behavioral health.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies and accreditation standards.
    • Participate in on-call duties and provide expert consultations as needed.
