Role Description
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, allowances, deductions, bonuses, and other payments.
- Oversee payroll calculations, statutory deductions, tax-related requirements, benefits, and payroll adjustments in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
- Review payroll data and reports to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and maintain data accuracy.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, employee information, and supporting documentation while ensuring confidentiality and data security.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, employees, banks, and relevant external parties on payroll-related matters.
- Monitor payroll schedules, deadlines, approvals, and payment processes to ensure smooth monthly operations.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, analysis, and management summaries as required.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with internal controls, company policies, and applicable employment and statutory requirements.
- Lead payroll process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Handle payroll queries professionally and provide guidance on salary, deductions, benefits, and related matters.
- Support payroll audits and provide required documentation and information to auditors or relevant authorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, statutory requirements, payroll controls, and employee compensation practices.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of payroll data confidentiality, internal controls, and information security.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage strict payroll deadlines.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate payroll issues, and implement effective solutions.
- High level of integrity, accountability, confidentiality, and accuracy.
- Professional payroll, accounting, or HR certification is an advantage.
