Position: PATIENT ACCEPTANCE REPRESENTATIVE I

Summary

Receives patients or their representatives seeking access to services of Hospital’s. Informs them about Hospital policies and procedures and acts as a liaison officer between patients and Patient Acceptance staff.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Receives and interviews patients or their representatives seeking access to the services of Hospital’s.
  • Verifies if patients concerned possess the required documents (Royal Orders, Medical Reports and other relevant medical information, i.e., x-rays, pathological slides).
  • Verifies patient’s eligibility and ensures the patient information sheet is completely filled up.
  • Registers, scans all related documents pertaining to the referral in the electronic referral system, and gives instructions to call to inquire about the outcome of the referral.
  • Attends to any inquiries of the public pertaining to the Patient Acceptance Services.
  • Coordinates with other hospital staff regarding patient referrals.
  • Participates in Self and Hospital quality improvement plans preferred.
  • Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
  • Participates in self and others’ education, training and development, as applicable.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Education

    Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree/Diploma in Hospital Administration, or other related discipline is required.

    Experience Required

    One (1) year of related experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or three (3) years with Associate Degree/Diploma is required.
