Job Title: Safety Officer

Job Summary:
The Safety Officer is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by implementing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. The role involves identifying workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and providing safety training to employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper safety practices.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.
  • Prepare emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills.
  • Monitor workplace conditions and recommend improvements to eliminate or reduce risks.
  • Work closely with supervisors and management to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Ensure fire safety equipment, first aid supplies, and emergency systems are properly maintained.
  • Prepare monthly safety reports and present safety performance data to management.
