OSH Officer – Risk and Contingency Management (UAE National Candidates Only)

The OSH Officer – Risk and Contingency Management reports to the Manager OSH Monitoring and Performance, supporting the department in delivering occurrence risk assessments, emergency evacuation drills, and the oversight and management of first aid kits, fire warden kits, and responder lists.

They are a core OSH team member ensuring that Etihad Airways are prepared and able to respond appropriately to identified hazards and emergencies, safeguarding the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors. As a trained risk assessment facilitator, they advise and drive effective hazard and risk awareness among Etihad Airways leadership during risk assessment workshops.

Accountabilities

  • Facilitate and support risk assessments across Etihad Airways activities.
  • Identify hazards and conduct evaluations to proactively mitigate risks.
  • Assign, track, and drive closure of risk‑related corrective actions and mitigations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and assess emergency response drills across all Etihad Airways facilities.
  • Deliver clear and actionable drill assessment reports.
  • Support incident investigations, conducting OSH incident investigations, identifying root causes, and ensuring effective corrective actions are taken.
  • Assist in monitoring and following up on findings and action plans to ensure timely closure.
  • Support the implementation of the OSH audit and inspection plan.
  • Ensure compliance with Etihad Airways OSH standards and applicable local regulatory requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on safety performance and risk status.
  • Report safety concerns, occurrences, and hazards in line with Etihad Airways procedures.
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by OSH Management to support the delivery of safety outcomes.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a safety environment in a high‑risk industry.
  • NEBOSH certificate or similar OSH qualification (mandatory).
  • Experience with emergency response plans, contingency plans, first aid, or similar (required).
  • Experience showing competence as a risk assessor or risk assessment facilitator (highly advantageous).
  • Completed training as a lead auditor (e.g., RBAQSA, BARS, ISO) (desirable).
  • Experience from high‑risk industries.
  • University degree or significant OSH industry experience and training (desirable).
  • Experience as a first aider and/or fire warden (desirable).
