Role Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Operations Supervisor to oversee our day-to-day freight operations in Dubai. You will be responsible for ensuring that all shipments—Air, Sea, and Land—are handled with maximum efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who can navigate the complexities of UAE customs, manage a team of coordinators, and maintain exceptional relationships with carriers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Manage and streamline the end-to-end shipment process, including booking, documentation, tracking, and final delivery.
- Team Leadership: Supervise a team of operations coordinators, providing guidance on complex shipments and ensuring KPIs (accuracy, speed, and cost) are met.
- Compliance & Customs: Ensure all operations comply with Dubai Customs, Dubai Trade, and international shipping regulations. Oversee the preparation of Bill of Lading, AWBs, and Certificates of Origin.
- Vendor Management: Manage performance with shipping lines, airlines, and local transport subcontractors.
- Customer Excellence: Act as the escalation point for client issues, ensuring proactive communication and swift resolution of delays or disputes.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and implement workflows to reduce operational costs and transit times.
Requirement:
Experience: 5+ years in freight forwarding, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role in the UAE.
Logistics Knowledge: Deep understanding of Multi-modal transport (Sea, Air, Road) and Incoterms 2020.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Dubai Trade, Mirsal II, and Freight Management Systems (FMS).
Communication: Fluent in English (written and verbal). Proficiency in Arabic or Hindi/Urdu is a significant plus.
Regulatory Expertise: Familiarity with DP World operations, JAFZA/DAFZA regulations, and UAE customs clearance procedures.
