OPERATIONS MANAGER – SWITCHGEAR Jobs in Dubai at Emac Electromechanical LLC
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Operations Management
- Lead the overall operations of the switchgear manufacturing facility.
- Ensure smooth coordination between Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Production, QA/QC, Stores, Logistics, and Finance.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity and profitability.
- Monitor daily operations and resolve bottlenecks affecting project delivery.
2. Production Planning & Execution
- Review and approve production schedules based on customer delivery commitments.
- Ensure timely manufacturing of:
- Main Distribution Boards (MDB)
- Sub Main Distribution Boards (SMDB)
- Final Distribution Boards (FDB)
- Motor Control Centres (MCC)
- Power Control Centres (PCC)
- ATS Panels
- Synchronization Panels
- Capacitor Banks
- PLC & Control Panels
- Optimize production capacity and machine utilization.
- Monitor production KPIs and ensure adherence to schedules.
3. Engineering & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with the Engineering Department for approval of drawings, BOMs, and technical submittals.
- Ensure all products comply with project specifications, IEC standards, and utility requirements.
- Resolve technical issues during manufacturing.
- Support value engineering initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
4. Procurement & Supply Chain
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Monitor critical material requirements and long-lead items.
- Review supplier performance.
- Ensure inventory optimization and reduce stock shortages.
5. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- IEC Standards
- DEWA
- SEWA
- EtihadWE
- ADDC
- Consultant Specifications
- Ensure all panels undergo Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Review quality reports and corrective actions.
- Minimize rework, defects, and customer complaints.
6. Project Delivery
- Monitor project progress from order confirmation to final dispatch.
- Ensure on-time delivery of all customer orders.
- Coordinate with logistics for dispatch planning.
- Attend project review meetings with clients where required.
- Resolve project execution issues proactively.
7. Financial & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage the factory operational budget.
- Monitor production costs, overheads, and labour costs.
- Improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Reduce material wastage and production losses.
- Review monthly operational performance against budget.
8. People Management
- Lead and manage:
- Production Engineers
- Planning Engineers
- QA/QC Engineers
- Store Team
- Logistics Team
- Maintenance Team
- Supervisors
- Conduct performance reviews.
- Identify training and development needs.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
9. Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure full compliance with UAE HSE regulations.
- Promote a zero-accident culture.
- Conduct regular safety inspections.
- Ensure proper PPE usage and safe working practices.
- Investigate incidents and implement preventive measures.
10. Continuous Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Drive 5S initiatives across the factory.
- Improve production efficiency.
- Reduce manufacturing cycle time.
- Implement automation and process improvements where feasible.
11. Customer Relationship Management
- Support Sales during technical discussions.
- Attend customer meetings when required.
- Handle customer complaints related to manufacturing and delivery.
- Build long-term relationships with consultants, contractors, and key clients.
12. ERP & Reporting
- Ensure accurate ERP transactions across all operational functions.
- Review production and inventory reports.
- Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for management.
- Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where necessary.
