Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Operations Manager specializing in Port, Vessel, and Transshipment activities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Saudi market, with a strong background in managing shipping operations, including port activities, vessel coordination, and transshipment processes. This role requires proficiency in using Shipping ERP systems and MS Office tools.
Candidates with a transferable Iqama and those available for immediate joining are preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
Port Operations Management:
Oversee and manage all port operations, ensuring the smooth handling of cargo and efficient use of port resources.
Coordinate with port authorities, shipping lines, and other stakeholders to ensure timely vessel berthing, loading, and unloading.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and international maritime laws.
Vessel Coordination:
Manage vessel scheduling, including arrival, departure, and turnaround times.
Collaborate with shipping agents and vessel operators to optimize vessel operations and reduce port stay time.
Monitor and report on vessel performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Transshipment
Activities:
Oversee the transshipment processes, ensuring the safe and efficient transfer of cargo between vessels.
Develop and implement strategies to minimize delays and optimize transshipment operations.
Maintain accurate records of transshipment activities, including cargo manifests and inventory management.
Shipping ERP Management:
Utilize Shipping ERP systems to manage and track port, vessel, and transshipment operations.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the ERP system, providing regular reports to management.
Train and support team members in the effective use of the ERP system.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and manage a team of port and vessel operations staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and compliance within the operations team.
Coordinate with HR for the recruitment, training, and development of new team members.
Sales & Marketing Support:
Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to support business development activities.
Provide operational insights and data to assist in client proposals and presentations.
Attend client meetings as needed, leveraging operational expertise to drive business growth.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all operations comply with local and international regulations, including environmental, safety, and security standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in port and vessel operations.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in port, vessel, and transshipment operations within Saudi Arabia.
ERP Proficiency:
Demonstrated experience in using Shipping ERP systems.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Driving License:
Valid driving license required for candidates interested in Sales and Marketing roles.
Iqama:
Transferable Iqama preferred.
Availability:
Immediate availability preferred.
