The Procurement Engineer at Glass R Us Industries is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring high-quality glass, aluminium, and related materials to ensure smooth project execution. This role involves supplier management, cost optimization, and ensuring timely delivery of materials while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Sourcing:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for glass, aluminium, hardware, and other project-related materials.
Obtain competitive quotations, analyze price comparisons, and negotiate cost-effective deals.
Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to meet project timelines.
2. Supplier Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with reliable vendors and manufacturers.
Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery timelines, and cost.
Develop alternative suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks.
3. Cost Control & Budgeting:
Monitor and control procurement costs to ensure alignment with project budgets.
Work with the finance department to process payments and resolve invoicing discrepancies.
Optimize procurement strategies to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency.
4. Quality & Compliance:
Ensure procured materials meet industry standards, project specifications, and company quality requirements.
Coordinate with the quality control team to inspect incoming materials and resolve quality issues.
Stay updated with industry regulations and compliance standards.
5. Coordination with Internal Teams:
Collaborate with the estimation, design, and production teams to forecast material requirements.
Provide timely procurement updates to the operations team to avoid project delays.
Assist in resolving supply chain bottlenecks and procurement-related challenges.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Knowledge of material specifications, market trends, and procurement best practices.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
