About the Role
We are partnering with a rapidly expanding, fully regulated Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) based in Dubai to hire an experienced Onboarding Specialist. This role sits within the compliance function and is critical to ensuring a seamless, compliant client onboarding experience in line with UAE regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Sumsub (Sum & Substance) and a strong understanding of KYC/AML processes within financial services or digital asset environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end client onboarding processes for individual and corporate clients
- Conduct KYC, KYB, and enhanced due diligence (EDD) in line with internal policies and regulatory standards
- Utilize Sumsub to review, verify, and approve customer documentation and risk profiles
- Identify and escalate potential risks, red flags, or suspicious activities to compliance teams
- Ensure all onboarding records are accurately maintained and audit-ready
- Work closely with Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to improve onboarding workflows
- Support periodic reviews and remediation of existing client accounts
- Stay up to date with evolving UAE regulations and VASP compliance requirements
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in KYC/AML onboarding within financial services, fintech, or crypto/VASP environments
- Hands-on experience with Sumsub is essential
- Strong knowledge of KYC, KYB, AML, and sanctions screening processes
- Familiarity with UAE regulatory frameworks (VARA, ADGM, DIFC) is highly desirable
- Experience onboarding both retail and institutional/corporate clients
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
