Job Overview
The Offshore Shutdown Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering offshore shutdown/turnaround projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Duties
- Lead pre-shutdown planning, scope definition, and risk assessments.
- Develop schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and operations teams.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards (Qatar regulations, company policies, and international standards like ISO 45001).
- Conduct safety audits and incident investigations.
- Liaise with clients (e.g., QP, QG, Shell, Total Energies) and subcontractors.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management.
- Monitor project expenditures and mitigate cost overruns.
- Ensure work meets technical specifications and quality standards.
- Oversee critical path activities, troubleshooting delays.
- Manage post-shutdown reviews and lessons-learned sessions.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related).
- Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years in oil/gas shutdowns, with 5+ years in offshore projects.
- Skills: Primavera P6, SAP, risk management, contract negotiation.
- Soft Skills: Leadership, crisis management, cross-cultural teamwork.
