Libera Consultants is supporting a leading offshore drilling contractor in Saudi Arabia in the search for an experienced Offshore Installation Manager (OIM).
This is a critical leadership position with overall responsibility for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the offshore installation. As the senior authority onboard, you will lead multidisciplinary rig teams, oversee drilling operations, drive operational excellence and ensure the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume overall command of the offshore installation, with responsibility for the safety of personnel, the assets and the environment.
- Lead and coordinate all drilling, marine and support operations to ensure safe, efficient and uninterrupted performance.
- Act as the designated Incident Commander, leading emergency response, crisis management and evacuation procedures when required.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, client requirements and all applicable international and local regulatory standards.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through visible leadership, coaching and workforce engagement.
- Lead, mentor and develop rig leadership teams and offshore personnel.
- Coordinate closely with onshore management, client representatives and third-party contractors to ensure effective operational delivery.
- Oversee Permit to Work (PTW) systems, risk assessments, toolbox talks and other critical safety processes.
- Monitor asset integrity, maintenance activities and operational readiness to maximise uptime and reliability.
- Lead investigations into incidents, near misses and non-conformances, ensuring robust corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Chair regular operational and HSE meetings, ensuring clear communication across all departments.
Candidate Profile
We're looking for an experienced offshore drilling leader with:
- Extensive offshore drilling experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ experience as OIM.
- Proven experience serving as an Offshore Installation Manager on offshore drilling installations.
- Strong technical knowledge of drilling operations, well control and offshore emergency response.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to make sound operational decisions in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent understanding of offshore HSE management systems, regulatory compliance and industry best practice.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working alongside clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Certifications:
- OPITO Offshore Installation Manager Controlling Emergencies (OIMCE)
- IWCF or IADC Well Control (Supervisor Level)
- BOSIET/HUET with EBS
- Valid Offshore Medical Certificate
- NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualification (preferred)
Location: Offshore Saudi Arabia (rotational assignment)
