About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Application Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PHP (CodeIgniter, Laravel), MySQL, JavaScript and jQuery. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, strong communication, and flexibility to work any five days a week, including weekends and shifts as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and maintenance for web applications built on PHP (CodeIgniter, Laravel) and MySQL.
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues related to database, server, and front-end technologies.
Debug and optimise code to enhance performance and ensure system reliability.
Collaborate with developers and other teams to ensure seamless deployment and support of applications.
Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement necessary fixes.
Write and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides and knowledge base articles.
Provide timely resolutions and updates on incident management requests.
Implement security best practices to protect applications and data integrity.
Work on integrations with third-party APIs and web services as required.
Assist in application upgrades, migrations, and feature enhancements.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in application support and development.
Strong knowledge of PHP frameworks (CodeIgniter, Laravel).
Hands-on experience with MySQL, including query optimization and database troubleshooting.
Proficiency in JavaScript, jQuery, and front-end debugging.
Experience in troubleshooting server and hosting issues (Linux, Apache, Nginx, etc.).
Strong understanding of REST APIs and third-party API integrations.
Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, etc.).
Ability to analyse logs, debug issues, and implement fixes efficiently.
Familiarity with cloud-based platforms like AWS, DigitalOcean, or Azure (preferred but not mandatory).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders and team members effectively.
Flexibility to work in shifts and provide support on any five days of the week.
Preferred:
Experience in DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, etc.).
Knowledge of performance monitoring tools (New Relic, Prometheus, or similar).
Basic understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, and security protocols.
Experience with automation scripting (Shell, Python, or Bash) for support tasks.
