The Role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Manager to provide clinical, operational, and strategic leadership across occupational therapy services.
The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical expertise with team leadership, service development, quality management, patient-centered care, operational planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
The role will be responsible for overseeing occupational therapy programs, managing clinical teams, establishing service standards, monitoring patient outcomes, supporting professional development, and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based occupational therapy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement occupational therapy strategies, clinical programs, service standards, and operational plans aligned with organizational objectives and patient needs.
- Provide clinical and operational leadership to occupational therapists and related rehabilitation professionals.
- Manage occupational therapy services across assessment, treatment planning, intervention, rehabilitation, discharge planning, and follow-up activities.
- Ensure patients receive individualized, evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions appropriate to their clinical needs and functional goals.
- Establish and maintain clinical protocols, treatment pathways, documentation standards, assessment procedures, and quality-control processes.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, patient progress, treatment effectiveness, functional improvement, patient satisfaction, and service utilization.
- Review complex cases and provide clinical guidance, supervision, mentoring, and professional support to occupational therapy staff.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, educators, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop individualized care strategies addressing functional independence, activities of daily living, mobility, cognitive function, sensory processing, rehabilitation, work participation, and community integration where appropriate.
- Support occupational therapy services across relevant patient populations and clinical settings, including physical rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, pediatrics, geriatrics, mental health, developmental services, or other applicable areas.
- Ensure appropriate assessment, treatment planning, progress documentation, outcome measurement, and discharge procedures are consistently implemented.
- Establish clinical supervision and competency-development programs for occupational therapy professionals.
- Identify training requirements and develop continuing professional-development initiatives for the occupational therapy team.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, competency assessment, and retention of occupational therapy professionals.
- Develop workforce plans covering staffing levels, caseloads, scheduling, clinical capacity, and service demand.
- Monitor occupational therapy caseloads, appointment utilization, treatment capacity, waiting times, and service-access performance.
- Ensure clinical documentation and patient records are accurate, complete, timely, confidential, and compliant with applicable requirements.
- Implement quality-improvement initiatives designed to improve clinical outcomes, patient experience, service efficiency, and continuity of care.
- Monitor compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, professional standards, organizational policies, clinical governance requirements, and patient-safety principles.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality reviews, incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective-action programs where required.
- Develop and monitor occupational therapy service KPIs, performance dashboards, quality indicators, patient-outcome measures, and operational reports.
- Evaluate new clinical technologies, assessment tools, rehabilitation techniques, assistive technologies, and service models that may improve patient outcomes.
- Support the development of telehealth and remote occupational therapy services where clinically appropriate and compliant with applicable requirements.
- Work with Finance and Operations teams to develop service budgets, resource plans, equipment requirements, and cost-management initiatives.
- Manage occupational therapy equipment, assistive devices, clinical resources, and service requirements in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Maintain strong relationships with patients, families, caregivers, referral sources, healthcare partners, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Develop patient and caregiver education initiatives supporting functional independence, rehabilitation goals, home programs, and long-term wellbeing.
- Prepare clinical reports, service-performance reviews, strategic recommendations, and executive-level updates for senior management.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate should have strong experience in occupational therapy, rehabilitation services, clinical leadership, healthcare management, or a related field.
The candidate should have a strong clinical foundation combined with leadership, operational management, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration capabilities.
Experience across rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient clinics, pediatric services, neurological rehabilitation, mental health, community care, elderly care, schools, or other healthcare environments would be advantageous.
