Key Responsibilities
1) Pre‑Installation Support
Review site readiness checklist provided by the internal team Validate availability of:
i) Rack space
ii) Power feeds and PDUs
iii) Structured cabling (fiber/copper)
iv) Console access
v) Coordinate with site contacts for access and work windows
2) Rack, Stack, and Physical Installation
i) Powering on Wi-Fi & LAN equipment.
ii) Test the power condition before Wi-Fi & LAN equipment is installed or get the power status tested by the end client.
iii) Installation of SFPs.
iv) Mount the Wi-Fi & LAN equipment in end client rack.
v) Change/install/ update device software via respective OEM portal or from the provided portable media
Rack mounting of Cisco network devices including (but not limited to):
i) Cisco Catalyst switches Qty 5
ii) Access points: 2
iii) Wireless LAN Controllers on Virtual instance provided by customer.
iv) Secure fastening, labeling, and physical alignment
v) Power cabling to redundant power sources
vi) Basic configuration or interface/provide remote access enabling
3) Staging
i) Allocate IP address
ii) OS upgradation
iii) Basic staging configuration to make the setup ready with Tata Comm engineer instructions.
iv) Reestablishing remote connectivity for Tata Comm remote resources
4) Cabling and Connectivity
i) Connect copper and fiber patch cords according to HLD documents shared by Tata Comm
ii) Validate cable integrity and correct port mapping.
5) Console and Physical Device Setup
i) Establish console access to Cisco devices
ii) Support internal teams during remote sessions
iii) Note: All logical configuration and SD‑Access policy setup will be executed by Tata Comm.
6) Capture and share:
i) Device serial numbers and ongoing status
ii) Photos (as‑built evidence)
Engineer Should carry:
i) Laptop with charger, Windows OS/MacBook and the Join me software installed (TV version to be confirmed in advance), “Team viewer”, Webex software
ii) Mobile data connection (4G/5G)
iii) Mobile phone with charger
iv) Rollover console cable for direct connection to router and spare UTP cables, screwdriver
v) Phone camera
vi) Any other parts to be confirmed in next phases of this project
vii) Engineer will carry two (2) straight & two (2) Cross cable as a part of standard equipment
viii) Engineer will carry suitable console cable as per the Switch type
ix) Carry bootable USB flash drive
x) RJ45 testers, Fibre testers & testing capabilities for any other common network mediums
xi) ASA Firewall configuration and IPSec tunnel setup capabilities
