About the Role
We are seeking a Network Performance Monitoring Engineer with expertise in Riverbed NetIM and enterprise monitoring platforms. This role focuses on observability, performance visibility, and proactive issue detection across large-scale enterprise networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and administer monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, Riverbed NetIM).
- Configure SNMP polling, device onboarding, health checks, thresholds, and alerts.
- Monitor network availability, latency, utilization, and performance trends.
- Troubleshoot incidents and manage change requests via BMC ITSM.
- Perform RCA using monitoring data and historical trends.
- Automate monitoring tasks with Linux shell scripting and Python.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Network, Security, Server, Application).
- Maintain dashboards, documentation, and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years in Network Performance Monitoring roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with SNMP-based monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Riverbed NetIM).
- Background in Linux/Windows server administration (supporting monitoring platforms).
- 3+ years of scripting experience (Linux shell, Python).
- Hands-on experience with BMC ITSM (incident & change management).
- Solid understanding of TCP/UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL/TLS.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with large-scale enterprise networks (Data Center, WAN, Branch, ISP).
- Alert tuning, noise reduction, and threshold optimization.
- Dashboard/report creation and performance baselining.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and operational best practices.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset.
- Clear communication of performance insights.
- Proactive approach to monitoring and incident prevention.
- Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
