Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Financial Services Regulatory / NBFI Consultant to support the transformation of regulatory frameworks covering Policy, Licensing, Risk and Supervision for Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFIs), Payments Companies and emerging financial services models.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and streamline regulatory policies, approval and NOC processes and establish frameworks for periodic policy reviews and gap assessments.
- Develop policy studies and recommendations addressing regulatory gaps across NBFIs and Payments Companies.
- Enhance licensing frameworks, application guidelines, review workflows and approval processes, leveraging SupTech where applicable.
- Develop frameworks for Sandbox, emerging licensing models and Sandbox-to-Licensing transitions.
- Establish and enhance risk assessment frameworks, including horizon scanning, sector-level risk assessment and entity-level risk scoring.
- Refine risk-based supervision, annual supervision planning, offsite monitoring and onsite inspection frameworks.
- Develop practical tools/templates supporting risk assessment, supervision planning and regulatory inspections.
- Enhance thematic reviews, supervisory request handling and regulatory decision-making.
- Define clear oversight and coordination responsibilities across NBFI Supervision, Payments, Cyber, Consumer Protection, Integrity, Licensing and Security functions.
- Tailor regulatory and supervisory frameworks for Payments Companies and Open Banking entities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in financial services regulation, regulatory transformation or financial sector consulting.
- Good understanding of NBFIs, Payments, FinTech and/or Open Banking.
- Hands-on experience in policy development, licensing, risk frameworks and regulatory supervision.
- Experience working with financial regulators, central banks, supervisory authorities or management consulting firms is highly preferred.
- Strong framework development, analytical, stakeholder management and documentation skills.
