Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG/MAG welding on structural steel and metal components.
- Read and understand fabrication drawings and welding specifications.
- Set and operate MIG welding machines with the correct voltage, wire speed, and gas flow.
- Weld steel plates, sections, frames, beams, and other fabricated components.
- Prepare joints by cleaning, grinding, and positioning materials before welding.
- Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, and incomplete fusion.
- Perform grinding and finishing of welded joints when required.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Coordinate with fabricators, fitters, and supervisors to complete work as per schedule.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a MIG/MAG Welder in steel or metal fabrication.
- Good knowledge of MIG welding techniques and equipment.
- Ability to weld different steel sections and thicknesses.
- Ability to read basic fabrication/welding drawings.
- Knowledge of welding safety and proper PPE.
- UAE/GCC experience is an advantage.
