Role Description:

The Merchandise Planning Assistant / Allocator is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai. This role supports merchandise planners in forecasting demand, managing stock levels, and ensuring optimal product allocation across stores and channels. Responsibilities include analysing sales and inventory data, preparing regular reports, and recommending replenishment and transfers to maximize sales and minimize stock-outs and overstock situations. The Merchandise Planning Assistant / Allocator helps maintain accurate data in planning systems and contributes to continuous improvement of planning processes.

• Analyse sales trends, historical data, store-level inventory and forecast demand to decide product allocation across stores.

• Allocate merchandise to stores (existing stores or new store openings) based on store capacity, sales trends, inventory levels, seasonal demand, and product life-cycle.

• Replenish stock during selling season: manage distribution of goods from warehouse to stores.

• Monitor inventory turnover, sell-through rates, size performance and stock-outs or overstock — adjust allocations accordingly.

• Prepare reports: weekly/monthly inventory reports, store-level stock/ sales analyses, allocation performance metrics

• Manage Inter-Branch Transfers (IBTs) on a weekly basis, ensuring that top stores are kept in stock at all times

• Deal with daily store requests in a timely fashion

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret sales trends, inventory data, and store performance metrics.
  • Candidates should possess Planning and Production Planning skills to support assortment planning, replenishment, and stock allocation activities.
  • Candidates should be proficient in English and possess solid Communication and Interpersonal Skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and store staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is ESSENTIAL and other planning or ERP tools to manage data and prepare reports.
  • Relevant experience in merchandise planning, retail allocation, or inventory management is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or a related field is advantageous.
  • High attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Demonstrates logical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates good listening, written and oral communication skills, effectively and clearly communicates
  • Show ability or aptitude in retail math, and to learn technical applications quickly
  • Can-do attitude
