MEP Quantity Surveyor Jobs in Dubai at Spots Electromechnical Works LLC
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Quantity Surveyor who can manages the cost estimation, budgeting, and financial administration of building service systems. They perform detailed quantity take-offs, draft Bills of Quantities (BOQs), evaluate tenders, and control project costs throughout the pre- and post-contract phases of construction.
Core Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation & Planning: Prepare detailed cost estimates, cost plans, and BOQs for MEP packages (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection).
- Quantity Take-offs: Perform detailed take-offs from design, schematic, and shop drawings.
- Tendering & Procurement: Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, prepare tender documents, and assist in contract negotiations.
- Cost Control: Monitor ongoing project costs against the approved budget and forecast potential overruns or savings.
- Variation & Change Management: Assess, quantify, and negotiate change orders and claims during construction.
- Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving alternatives and design optimizations without compromising performance.
- Final Accounts: Verify final quantities, track cash flow, and assist in compiling final account documentation at project closure.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Typically requires 6-8 years of specific MEP quantity surveying experience, often on large-scale developments such as high-rise buildings or airports.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of MEP terminology, technical drawings, and specifications. Proficiency in measurement standards like RICS, NRM, POMI, or CESMM is highly preferred.
- Software: Competency in construction software such as CostX, Revit, and advanced Excel.
