Overview

MEP Project Planner Jobs in Sharjah at LUCKY FABRICATORS STEEL CONSTRUCTION FZE LLC

What This Role Is About

MEP work is where a lot of projects quietly fall behind — cable routing depends on ductwork clearance, which depends on structural sign-off, which depends on a dozen other trades. This role exists to keep that tangle of dependencies visible and under control, so MEP never becomes the reason a project slips.

Responsibilities

Schedule Development

  • Build detailed MEP schedules in Primavera P6, covering HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire fighting works
  • Sequence MEP activities correctly against civil/structural progress — no MEP schedule works in isolation
  • Break down MEP scope into a clear WBS covering design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning phases
  • Account for long-lead material items (chillers, panels, pumps, generators) in the schedule realistically

Progress Monitoring

  • Track MEP installation progress against baseline across all disciplines (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting)
  • Identify where MEP is falling behind structural/civil handover and flag it before it becomes a bottleneck
  • Maintain rolling look-ahead schedules for MEP site teams
  • Monitor testing & commissioning (T&C) milestones separately, since these often get missed in general schedules

Coordination

  • Work closely with MEP site engineers, subcontractors, and the main contractor’s planning team
  • Coordinate interface points between MEP and civil/structural/finishing trades
  • Track shop drawing and material submittal approval status, since MEP procurement is often the critical path driver
  • Liaise with procurement on equipment delivery timelines and their schedule impact

Reporting

  • Prepare MEP-specific progress reports, S-curves, and completion percentage tracking
  • Present MEP schedule status in project coordination meetings
  • Support EOT claims related to MEP delays, particularly where they stem from late civil handover or design changes

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
  • 4–7 years of planning/scheduling experience specifically within MEP projects
  • Strong Primavera P6 skills, with genuine understanding of MEP-specific scheduling logic (interface dependencies, T&C sequencing)
  • Familiarity with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire fighting scope of work
  • Experience tracking material submittals and long-lead procurement items

A Plus

  • Experience coordinating MEP schedules on projects with multiple subcontractors
  • Exposure to BIM/clash detection coordination
  • Prior experience specifically in the UAE
