MEP Engineer (Construction / Site Execution) Jobs in Abu Dhabi at INSPIRE BUILDERS GENERAL CONTRACTING COMPANY
Role Purpose
To plan, coordinate and deliver the complete MEP (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting and ELV) scope of construction projects on site — from shop drawings through installation, testing, commissioning, authority approvals and handover — to the required quality, programme and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Construction delivery Take ownership of the MEP scope on assigned projects (buildings, villas, warehouses, parks, fit-outs) from setting-out through to snag-free handover.
- Shop drawings & coordination Review, mark up and obtain approval for MEP shop drawings; carry out services coordination against architecture, structure and finishes; resolve clashes before installation.
- Material & BOQ control Prepare material take-offs from drawings and BOQs, raise material submittals and procurement requests, and control wastage on site.
- Site supervision Direct the electrical, mechanical and plumbing supervisors and subcontractors; sequence first-fix and second-fix activities to suit the construction programme.
- Quality & inspections Raise and walk down inspection requests (WIRs), ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications and UAE codes; maintain QA/QC records.
- Authority approvals Coordinate inspections and approvals with relevant authorities and utilities (e.g. DEWA, ADDC, AADC, SEWA, Civil Defence) and consultants.
- Testing & commissioning Plan and witness testing and commissioning of all MEP systems; compile T&C records and as-built information for handover.
- Programme & reporting Track MEP progress against programme, identify slippage early, and report status, manpower and constraints to the Project Manager.
- Safety Enforce HSE requirements for all MEP activities and ensure safe systems of work on site.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / MEP Engineering.
- UAE Society of Engineers / MMUP (UPDA) engineer registration is an advantage.
- Valid UAE driving licence preferred.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5–8 years’ MEP experience with a contractor on live construction projects — must include full-build delivery, not maintenance.
- Proven track record delivering complete MEP packages on at least one project type: building, villa, warehouse, park or major fit-out.
- Strong ability to read and interpret MEP construction drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of UAE MEP codes, authority and utility approval processes.
- Competent in services coordination, testing & commissioning and handover documentation.
- Confident leading site teams, subcontractors and multi-trade coordination.
- AutoCAD / drawing mark-up and MS Office; planning-software awareness (Primavera / MS Project) an advantage.
Pay: AED5,000.00 – AED10,000.00 per month
