MEP Draftsman Jobs in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at Al-Arrab Contracting Company (ACC)
Minimum required Experience & Skills:
To monitor the ongoing design activities, especially shop drawing and detailing drawings as per the requirements of the consultant and client. Must be experienced in MEP design and detailing drawings.
Supervises the preparation of technical drawings based on rough sketches, specifications, and calculations from engineers, surveyors, architects, and MEP engineers.
Critically reviews the relevant documents prior to the start of construction e.g., IFC, Project Specification, etc.
Checks and corrects work prepared by others to conform to standards, specifications, and design requirements.
Prepares finished drawings for construction work from sketches, specifications, and field notes.
Prepares MEP calculations for HVAC drawings, plumbing, piping, small substations, and electrical works.
Handles design change requirements, including but not limited to piping, plumbing, and fire fighting design.
Identifies any deviation in the design and provides justification for the deviation.
Experience in MEP design detailing.
Reports to the design manager as well as the MEP manager for smooth coordination of design work.
Experienced in local Jeddah procedures.
Ability to prepare quick, simple, and accurate hand calculations to check the design of others.
Familiarity with US codes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering / Diploma in Design Engineering.
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Outlook, and AutoCAD is required. Knowledge of popular design software is desirable (such as SAP).
6 years of chief draftsman lead experience, design, and shop drawings experience. Middle East experience is a plus.
