The Jordanian Association for Medical Aid to Palestinians is announcing a vacancy for a Mental Health and Social Counselor to enhance its team and provide mental health and social support services to beneficiaries, including patients and their companions.
The counselor will be responsible for conducting individual and group counseling sessions, assessing initial mental and social needs, monitoring cases, and referring them to specialists when necessary. Additionally, the counselor will implement mental health and social support activities, awareness initiatives, and promote mental well-being and psychosocial support.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for mental health and social support.
- Provide initial mental health support and assist beneficiaries in developing positive coping strategies.
- Monitor cases and assess their needs, referring them to cases requiring specialized intervention.
- Implement mental health and social support activities and child-friendly initiatives, promoting mental health awareness.
- Document sessions, cases, activities, and prepare regular reports according to established templates.
- Contribute to monitoring safeguarding issues and reporting them according to established procedures.
- Adhere to principles of confidentiality, non-harm, and respect for beneficiaries’ rights.
- Comply with safeguarding policies and prevent exploitation and sexual abuse (PSEA), and adhere to professional conduct and ethics.
- Coordinate with mental health professionals and social support teams and project teams, and other relevant specialties.
