Job Overview: Â The Medical Laboratory Technician at Menalabs is responsible for conducting routine medical laboratory tests and procedures to support healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Specimen Collection and Processing:
Collect, receive, and prepare patient samples (blood, urine, tissues, saliva, etc.) for analysis. Ensure proper labeling and documentation of specimens as per Laboratory Standards.
Laboratory Testing:
Perform a variety of routine laboratory tests using automated and manual techniques. Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Quality Control
:
Conduct
quality control
procedures to verify the
accuracy and precision
of laboratory tests. Monitor and maintain
quality assurance
and
quality control
records.
Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
Enter test results into the laboratory information system. Maintain accurate and detailed records of tests, procedures, and patient information.
Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, regarding test results and patient information as needed. Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth workflow.
Compliance:
Adhere to all laboratory safety and infection control protocols. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Continuing
Education:
Stay informed about new laboratory techniques, technologies, and industry trends. Participate in continuing
education
and training programs.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field with 2 years of experience in clinical diagnostics lab. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field with 3 years of experience in clinical diagnostics lab.
Certification:
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by a recognized university with Eligibility letter from DOH/DHA/MOH
Experience:
Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
Skills:
Strong
attention to detail
and accuracy. Good organizational and time-management skills. Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and technology.
Communication
:
Excellent
communication
and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with a
multidisciplinary
healthcare team.
