Roles and responsibilities
Operate and maintainmachines with piston movement, cranes, and moving vehicles,ensuring proper functionality and safetycompliance
Install, operate, and maintainhydraulic systems and pumps, troubleshoot mechanical issues, andperform repairs, including tasks such as fixing, demounting, andlubrication operations
Perform mechanicalwelding, screwing, rust removal, and calibrations in accordancewith manufacturer manuals to ensure systems operate withinspecified parameters
Work with pressure gauges,temperature gauges, and their calibrations to ensure accuratereadings and optimal equipmentperformance
Understand and manage waterpipeline systems, ensuring efficient flow control and systemintegrity
Handle electrical components ofmechanized laboratory equipment and hydraulic control systems, witha focus on electrical safety and use of testingequipment
Apply safety procedures to identifyand mitigate hazards within the laboratory, operate safetyequipment such as protective clothing, goggles, and gloves, andensure compliance with safety regulations while handling hazardousmaterials appropriately
Oversee the maintenanceof water tanks, ensuring proper water
quality control
, cleaning,and repair of tank components such as filters and drainagesystems
Qualifications:
Three-Year Technical Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or Bachelor’s Degreein Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering),or equivalent
Minimum 05 years’experience in a similar role and environment for diploma holder or Minimum 03 years’ experience in a similar role andenvironment for degree holder  Desired candidate profile
1. Technical Knowledge of Mechanical Systems In -depthunderstanding of mechanical systems, including engines, HVACsystems, pumps, compressors, turbines, and industrialmachinery.
Knowledge of how differentmechanical components (e.g., bearings, shafts, gears) work togetherin systems and how to troubleshoot when theyfail.
2. Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation Abilityto  read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, andschematics to understand the design and functionality of mechanicalsystems.
Proficiency with CAD software (e.g.,AutoCAD) can be beneficial for understanding mechanicaldesigns.
3.Installation andAssembly
Skill inassembling, installing, and testing mechanical equipment andsystems, ensuring that everything is set up to manufacturerspecifications or project requirements.
Thismight include tasks like pipefitting, welding, and installingmotors, conveyors, or controlsystems.
4. Maintenanceand Repairs Regularmaintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure proper operation,including lubrication, cleaning, and partreplacement.
Ability to diagnose mechanicalproblems, disassemble equipment, and perform necessary repairs orpart replacements (e.g., belts, gears, hydraulicsystems).5.Troubleshooting andDiagnostics
Strongproblem-solving skills to identify and diagnose mechanical issuesquickly and accurately.
Use of diagnostic toolssuch as vibration analyzers, pressure gauges, and thermal camerasto identify issues with machinery.
6.Preventive Maintenance Expertisein  planning and performing preventive maintenance routines toensure machines and systems operate smoothly and have a longerservice life.
