We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Static Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventive, corrective, predictive, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostic activities related to mechanical static equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical static maintenance activities on process and non-process equipment.
- Carry out overhaul, preventive, corrective, predictive, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostic activities.
- Work on static components of:
- Pumps – valves, piping, pipe supports, expansion bellows, and fittings
- Cooling Towers – infills, nozzles, basins, fan stacks, and GRP structures
- Tanks – structures, valves, fittings, and air vents
- Air Handling Units – filters, ducting, and AHU housings
- Filtration Systems – filters, housings, piping, and fittings
- Chemical Dosing Systems – pumps, tanks, pipes, and fittings
- Corrosion racks, sampling, blowdown, and chemical dosing piping systems
- Supervise, guide, and monitor work performed by external vendors and contractors.
- Prepare daily technical logs, checklists, maintenance reports, and required documentation.
- Obtain required spare parts, materials, and consumables from stores or external locations.
- Maintain and safely use assigned tools, PPE, spare parts, and equipment.
- Participate in emergency response activities as required for business continuity.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) in accordance with company procedures.
- Support other maintenance disciplines and team members when required.
- Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance of shared equipment such as:
- Forklifts
- Scissor Lifts
- Boom Lifts / Man Lifts
- Small Portable Generators
- Supervise third-party contractors for major or complex maintenance activities, including crane maintenance.
HSSEQ Responsibilities
- Follow all company HSSEQ and safety rules and procedures.
- Take responsibility for personal safety, co-workers, contractors, and the worksite.
- Proactively identify and report unsafe acts and conditions.
- Perform all Permit to Work (PTW) activities in accordance with approved PTW, JSA, and Method Statements.
- Conduct Last-Minute Risk Assessments before and during work activities.
- Ensure all work remains within the approved PTW scope.
- Exercise Stop Work Authority whenever unsafe conditions or non-compliance are identified.
- Ensure all requirements are completed before handing equipment/assets back to Production & Distribution.
- Maintain work areas in a safe, clean, and operational-ready condition.
- Comply with applicable company and site requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Technical qualification/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance preferred.
- Proven experience in mechanical static equipment maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of valves, piping, tanks, cooling towers, filtration systems, fittings, and associated static equipment.
- Experience working in industrial, utilities, oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar environments is preferred.
- Good knowledge of PTW, JSA, risk assessment, and safe work practices.
- Experience supervising contractors and vendors.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to respond to emergency maintenance requirements when required.
