Job Purpose:
The Co-op Mechanical Engineer will support the Operations team in day-to-day manufacturing activities by assisting with production processes, equipment performance, process improvements, and operational efficiency while gaining practical engineering experience in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support daily production and operational activities to ensure smooth workflow.
* Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
* Assist in troubleshooting production and equipment-related issues.
* Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve operational challenges.
* Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing / 5S).
* Assist in monitoring production KPIs and preparing operational reports.
* Prepare operational documentation, work instructions, and reports.
* Perform other duties assigned by the Operations Supervisor.
Qualifications:
* Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Currently enrolled in a co-op program with an official co-op letter from the university.
* Minimum GPA of 3.75/5.00 or 2.75/4.00.
* Must meet all university/program acceptance requirements for co-op placement.
* Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, and engineering principles.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
