Mechanical Engineer – Tank Farm Steel Fabrication Jobs in Sharjah at Midas Building Contracting LLC
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the design, fabrication, and construction of our tank farms.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for tank farm storage tanks.
- Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure tanks meet all code requirements (e.g., ASME).
- Select appropriate materials and fabrication techniques for tank construction.
- Participate in the development and implementation of fabrication processes for steel tanks.
- Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and fabrication shop personnel.
- Conduct inspections during fabrication to ensure quality control standards are met.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design calculations, reports, and material lists.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices for tank farm construction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the oil & gas or storage tank industry.
- Proven experience with tank farm steel fabrication projects.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis principles.
- Proficiency with engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) standards.
- Knowledge of welding procedures and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Experience with project management principles.
