Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, drafting, and coordination of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and drainage services for various building projects across the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare mechanical design drawings, layouts, and detailed shop drawings for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and drainage systems.
- Perform design calculations and ensure compliance with project specifications, local authority requirements, and international standards.
- Develop coordinated MEP drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM platforms.
- Review project requirements, tender documents, and engineering specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and site teams to resolve design conflicts.
- Prepare equipment schedules, material take-offs, and technical submittals.
- Assist in value engineering and design optimization to improve project efficiency.
- Ensure all designs comply with UAE codes, regulations, and client requirements.
- Support project execution teams by providing technical clarifications and design solutions.
- Participate in design review meetings and project coordination workshops.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP design and drafting, preferably within the UAE or GCC.
- Strong experience in HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and building services design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM coordination tools.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA and UAE authority requirements.
- Ability to perform design calculations and prepare technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BIM Level 2 projects.
- Knowledge of cooling load calculations and hydraulic calculations.
- Familiarity with software such as HAP, Elite, Navisworks, or similar design tools.
