Mechanical Assistant / Helper Jobs in Doha at SFAI Qatar
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, valves, pipelines, pressure vessels, and other mechanical equipment.
- Support technicians during equipment overhauling, alignment, dismantling, and assembly activities.
- Carry tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials to work locations.
- Clean and maintain mechanical workshops, equipment rooms, and work areas.
- Assist in lubrication, inspection, and routine servicing of plant equipment.
- Help with installation and replacement of gaskets, bearings, seals, and pipe fittings.
- Participate in plant shutdown and startup activities under supervision.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures.
- Report equipment abnormalities, leaks, unusual noises, or defects to supervisors.
- Support housekeeping and ensure work areas remain clean and safe.
- Assist in handling and moving equipment using proper lifting techniques and tools.
- Maintain maintenance records and complete assigned work orders when required.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment.
- Ability to read simple mechanical drawings is an advantage.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Physically fit and able to work in industrial environments.
- Ability to work in shifts and as part of a team.
Educational Requirements
- High School / Secondary School Certificate.
- ITI, Diploma, or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter, or related trade preferred
Pay: QAR3,500.00 – QAR4,000.00 per hour
