Study and evaluate manufacturers of materials and inspect materials used for main laying waterworks under KM or RA-PWA or any other government organizations, industrial, and private sectors in order to ensure their compliance with the latest Kahramaa general specifications for main laying materials.
Control the examination of materials for water works under the jurisdiction of Kahramaa in the State of Qatar.
Evaluate manufacturers and proposed material products technically as per the requirements of the latest general specifications of materials.
Revise and update the “KAHRAMAA” general specifications for main laying materials periodically.
Prepare technical specifications of materials for water works in coordination with concerned departments internally (within Kahramaa departments) and externally (governmental agencies, private sectors, and industrial sectors).
Study, evaluate, and recommend materials and manufacturers to the tender evaluation teams under Kahramaa for future projects in the State of Qatar.
Inspect materials supplied by the contractor/supplier against various projects running under Kahramaa, Ashghal, QP, etc., prior to acceptance at project sites.
Inspect returned materials at the Kahramaa warehouse.
Prepare regular reports on the progress of works to the head and discuss topics with concerned engineers and respective heads.
Conduct factory visits to monitorquality controlandquality assuranceprior to the approval of materials before shipment in case of bulk deliveries.
Attend seminars and conferences related to materials. Apply new methods and techniques appropriate to the current practices and procedures. Conduct research for any existing materials in case of defects upon the request of the Material Standard Engineer or Head of Section.
Perform other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor.

Job Skills:
Education:Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Chemical)
Work Experience:Minimum 8 years experience, with 4 years in a similar capacity.
Other Requirements:
Must have sound spoken/writtencommunication skills.
Able to develop technical reports.
Desirable to be a corporate member of a recognized engineering institution.
Motivation,problem solving, and team building & support.
Fully literate with relevant software.
This position requires extensive traveling between venues/depots during normal working hours.
