Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Section Head to lead the strategic communications efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that elevates the museum’s profile locally, regionally, and internationally. This role requires a visionary leader with strong storytelling skills, deep media relations experience, and a passion for arts and culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications
Develop and implement an integrated communications strategy that supports the museum’s mission and vision.
Align communications initiatives with institutional priorities, exhibitions, public programs, and stakeholder engagement.
Serve as the lead advisor on communication matters to senior leadership.
Media Relations and Public Affairs
Build and maintain strong relationships with regional and international media outlets.
Oversee the development of press materials, media kits, and key messaging documents.
Manage press events, interviews, and media coverage related to museum activities.
Internal Communications
Ensure effective internal communication across departments to foster transparency and collaboration.
Work with leadership and HR to communicate key initiatives and organizational changes.
Digital and Social Media Strategy
Lead the museum’s digital and social media strategies to grow audience engagement and visibility.
Guide content creation for digital platforms, ensuring consistency with the museum’s voice and branding.
Monitor analytics to optimize digital performance and inform strategy.
Leadership and Team Development
Manage the communications team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluation.
Oversee the department’s budget, vendors, and project timelines.
Promote a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
7–10 years of progressive experience in communications, preferably in a cultural or arts organization.
Proven track record of leading successful communications campaigns on a regional or global scale.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
Deep understanding of traditional, digital, and social media landscapes.
Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
