A new opportunity has come up with a well-known event management firm. Our client is looking for a Marketing and Business Development Manager   who will be responsible for overseeing the marketing communications, business development, and fundraising efforts of the firm.  This position will work closely with the Executive Manager for Marketing and Communications and the

senior management

team to develop and implement marketing and business development strategies that increase

brand awareness

, drive ticket sales, engage audiences, expand the institution’s reach, foster partnerships, and generate revenue.

The Marketing and Business Development Manager will also be responsible for managing a team of marketing communications and business development professionals and collaborating with external partners and suppliers.  Responsibilities:

Planning and implementing marketing strategies to promote products or services to current customers as well as new ones.  Analyzing data to identify

opportunities for growth

in existing markets or the development of new markets.  Establishing long-term strategic plans to achieve company goals such as increasing

brand awareness

or increasing market share.  Developing and implementing strategies to attract new customers, increase

brand awareness

, and increase loyalty from existing customers.

Managing operational activities such as pricing,

inventory management

, and product development.  Managing the marketing department staff and overseeing the implementation of marketing campaigns.  Developing new products and services based on customer preferences and market trends.  Determining which methods of advertising are most effective for the company based on cost, reach, and return on investment.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing and communications or a related field.  At least five years of experience in marketing and communications and business development, of which at least 2 years in a leading role, preferably in a theatre or performing arts setting.  Strong written and verbal

communication skills

with the ability to write clear and compelling copy for various digital and print channels.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.  Well-adept in all facets of marketing and business development functions.  Intensive exposure to cultural arts, art exhibitions, museums, or arts festivals.

Analytical skills

to gather and interpret market data and make

data-driven decisions

.  Experience in event planning and

project management

.  Financial acumen to develop and manage budgets effectively.

Ability to work collaboratively in a

team-oriented

environment.  Experience managing and mentoring a team of marketing and communications and business development professionals.  Fluency in English is a must, and knowledge of another language would be a plus.
