Marine Mechanic Jobs in Dubai at Para Specialty Coffee
As a Senior Marine Manager, you will perform a hybrid role with both management as well as technical responsibilities. You will manage an expanding fleet of crewboats spread across the Middle-East and Africa and lead a diverse team of people across the region to ensure an efficient operation of the vessels in the fleet.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Management
Manage overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established by the company.
Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues.
Enhance the operational procedure, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting, and look for opportunities to improve systems.
Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in compliance with the company’s policies and applicable laws, addressing operational issues on the ship which include attending to their program if necessary.
Ensure every findings/observation/non-conformance given to the ship by the charterer, client or auditor is closed timely.
Ensure all related trading certificates of the ship are valid.
Support ISM Safety Management Systems and subsequent certification and documentation and liaise with Designated Person Ashore to ensure internal and external audit of the ship can be done timely and that all corrective and preventive actions proposed are executed promptly.
Assist with investigating ship accidents/incidents and eliminate identified deficiencies.
Plan and execute the survey on all the ships.
Ensure Crewing Unit maintains the ship minimum safe manning and Company’s maritime training program that includes the tracking of licenses and ratings and proficiencies.
Be actively involved in selecting suitable qualified ship crew and monitoring their performance and career progression through reviews of crew assessment ropes.
Demonstrate financial management and budgeting skills.
Make sound business decisions based on data and statistics.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulatory bodies and agencies.
Prudently manage resources within budgetary guidelines according to Company policy and within ethical corporate governance guidelines.
Minimize operating costs by eliminating redundancies, refine processes and optimize resource utilisation.
Technical
Plan, control, and execute all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, survey and certificate requirements, conversion or modification of assigned ships, including preparation of specifications, cost compilation and the final reports.
Perform ship inspections, which will include a minimum of one port or sailing visit on board with the associated reports.
Carry out root cause analysis for technical breakdown and formulate a dynamic work plan and action list with the Chief Engineer.
Ensure that the ship is maintained according to the Company’s policy and receives regular reports on its progress.
Liaise with Purchasing on ship’s consumables / spares inventory, vetting and approving ship’s stores and spare parts requisitions.
Requirements
At least eight years of relevant experience in the marine and offshore industry with four or more years of proven success in an operations management role.
Possess relevant educational qualifications in a tertiary technical field.
A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service.
