We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Marine Engineer to join our fleet operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical and electrical equipment on board. You will ensure the vessel operates at peak efficiency while strictly adhering to international maritime regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations: Manage the operation of main propulsion engines, auxiliary engines, boilers, and all shipboard mechanical systems.
- Maintenance: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, and STCW regulations. Manage fuel consumption, bunker operations, and bilge water management.
- Safety & Emergency: Serve as a key member of the emergency response team; conduct regular drills and ensure fire-fighting and life-saving equipment are operational.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate engine room logs, inventory records, and technical reports for fleet management.
- Team Leadership: Supervise engine room staff, including fitters, oilers, and junior engineers, ensuring a culture of safety and excellence
