Position: Manager – Smart City (MAS338)
Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager/Senior Manager – Smart City to lead the development and implementation of smart city initiatives within our transformative projects. This role is key in integrating technology and innovation into urban development, ensuring that Qiddiya becomes a model for smart, sustainable living in Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the smart city vision and strategy that aligns with Qiddiya’s overall business objectives.
Lead cross-functional teams to design and integrate smart technology solutions into city infrastructure, services, and operations.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, technology providers, and community entities to promote smart city initiatives.
Conduct research and analysis on emerging smart city technologies and trends, evaluating their applicability to Qiddiya’s development.
Oversee project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure successful delivery of smart city projects on time and within budget.
Facilitate workshops and discussions to engage stakeholders, promote understanding, and build consensus on smart city concepts and projects.
Monitor and assess the performance and impact of smart city initiatives, deploying necessary interventions to optimize their effectiveness.
Develop and manage budgets for smart city projects, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
Champion sustainability practices within the smart city framework, promoting energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of smart city initiatives and overall progress towards strategic goals.
Assess IoT, AI, and big data solutions for urban challenges (e.g., traffic sensors, smart grids, predictive policing).
Work with data analysts to derive insights from city data (e.g., traffic patterns, energy consumption).
Evaluate smart city platforms (e.g., GIS, CIM – City Information Modeling, digital twins)
Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Develop detailed Business Requirements Documents, Functional Requirements Documents, and user stories to guide development teams.
Collaborate with city officials, urban planners, IT teams, and citizens to gather requirements.
Conduct workshops and interviews to understand pain points in urban services (e.g., public safety, transportation, utilities).
Translate stakeholders need technical specifications for vendors and developers.
Map existing city workflows and recommend automation/digitization improvements.
Support the integration of smart technologies (e.g., smart lighting, EV charging networks, surveillance systems).
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for project implementation.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in business analysis, preferably within smart city projects, urban development, or technology sectors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Familiarity with smart city concepts, IoT technologies, and digital infrastructure is highly desirable.
Must have technology consulting or system implementation background
