Role Purpose
To conduct and complete all validation procedures and validate models under the purview of the Model Validation Unit (MVU), ensuring that model risk is managed in accordance with ADCB’s Model Risk Management Policy, Model Validation Guidelines and regulatory requirements set forth by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).
Key Responsibilities
- Model Validation:
Assess the appropriateness and construction of models to determine model risk, review assumptions, mathematical implementation, underlying data, and system implementation; produce a validation report, identify limitations, conditions for use, and risk level; communicate findings and suggestions to model owners, developers, users and set expectations. - People Management:
Manage self and the team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, organize and supervise activities to achieve targets and objectives, and deliver the business plan in accordance with required policies, processes and systems. - Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures:
Implement approved departmental policies and procedures, ensuring employee adherence to required standards and service levels. - Continuous Improvement:
Motivate the team to contribute to change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the bank’s standards. - Customer Service:
Apply ADCB Service Standards to deliver high‑quality service in all internal and external customer interactions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in quantitative risk management, with a deep understanding of Basel II/III standards.
- Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a quantitative science (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering or a related field).
- Knowledge and
Skills:
Prior experience developing or validating risk models, advanced programming skills in statistical/mathematical software, MS Office Suite, SAS, MATLAB, R, Python, VB, or other statistical modeling software, SQL database management and administration; financial statement analysis and review; regulatory and compliance knowledge (CBUAE, Basel); planning, forecasting and monitoring (stress tests, ICAAP); risk evaluation and management; statistical and predictive analysis.
