Job Description

This is a Business Development Role for Babyshop E-Commerce Marketplace platform – Responsible for scaling up brands, onboarding and growing 3rd party suppliers, new brands and accounts either on consignment or back-to-back model.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Strategy

  • This is a Business Development Role for Babyshop E-Commerce Marketplace platform – Responsible for scaling up Baby & kids clothing brands, onboarding and growing 3rd party suppliers, new brands and accounts either on consignment or back-to-back model
  • Develop external category strategy which complements Babyshop existing private label business and leads to E-Commerce growth for the Baby products
  • Manage and optimize product listings from 3rd party suppliers
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability of marketplaces products
  • Manage relationships with marketplace vendors and negotiate contracts and terms, focusing on eCommerce-specific vendor management
  • Ensuring vendor experience issues are addressed promptly these could be around access to information/data, payments, MIS reports, promotion plans, etc.
  • Planning for events and promotions including getting support from brands
  • Build external accounts and build SKU growth in Babyshop categories over the long term, through relevant goal alignment and execution of strategy in consultation with the internal Buying team
  • Competition analysis of brands in the GCC region and deciding relevant ones to onboard
  • Deciding on OTB (open to buy) for consignment brands & Outright brands
  • Account Management – Vendor onboarding, business operations and financial reconciliation & payments

Stakeholder Management

  • Align and influence leadership stakeholders on business vision
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across In-House private label buying teams and drive the ongoing execution smoothly
  • Identify, implement, and improve key levers that will enhance the value of the business to enable growth

Key Requirements

  • Master's degree
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in ECommerce retail
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Imaginative and creative problem solver
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience launching international brands or a brand into new markets
