Manager Component Configuration Control – Engineering Jobs in Doha, Qatar at Qatar Airways
The Engineering Department has anexcitingopportunity for Manager Component Configuration Control to be based in Doha, Qatar.
You will develop and manage the functions of Aircraft and Component configuration control by defining functional aircraft masks, component effectivities, define new part numbers and define required assemblies/NLA structures for complex parts and kits. Ensure time controlled and life limited parts installed on aircraft have the correct setup for call outs prior to due dates.
Strategic Accountabilities
Develop processes and procedures for Component/Aircraft Configuration. Update procedures where necessary to achieve process improvements.
Prepare business continuity plans pertaining to Component Configuration Control team.
Develop and monitor plans for definition and implementation of Aircraft configuration controls and Aircraft induction across QTR fleet.
Operational Accountabilities
Ensure compliance with the company procedures relevant to Component Configuration Control unit.
Conduct periodic reviews of risk assessments for related processes/procedures and develop mitigation actions.
Develop a component configuration matrix (parent-child relationship) for each aircraft type operated by Qatar Airways in line with company procedures and standard industry practices for proper asset tracking.
Control and process any changes in the component configuration matrix for approval, ensuring agreement by all stakeholders and relevant systems are updated.
Update the Component Configuration mask for all newly inducted aircraft in Qatar Airways fleet to ensure component data is known in inventory and properly tracked.
Ensure zero component overruns through periodic review of mitigation measures listed in the processrisk assessment.
Review Shop visit reports for Complex Assemblies (Engine, Landing Gear & APU) and ensure relevant IT systems are correctly updated.
Complete all assigned component transactions (hard time components / On Condition components) within agreed timelines, ensuring all part number controls are accurately updated and any relevant queries are timely responded to achieve high standards of airworthiness records, accurate forecasting of components, minimize turnaround time for repair processes, and improve spares availability and accountability of assets.
Update engine, APU and landing gears NLA structures at each transaction.
Ensure availability of full back to birth traceability documents for life limited parts.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
Qualifications
High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification / Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 9 years of job-related experience OR
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
Qualification in Engineering.
Completed Management training and assigned role-specific technical courses.
Work experience in defining aircraft component configuration and control.
Good knowledge of aircraft, approved maintenance data, maintenance concepts and Aviation Regulations (Part CAMO/ Part M / Part 145) requirements.
Preferred someone withProject ManagementSkills.
